The search for pride and inspiration is apparent in the final chapter of the fictional Crises, which presents a vision of the fulfilled Malay potential and celebrates the diaspora that has spread across the world.

FAISAL TEHRANI (b. 1974 - ) ) is a Malaysian author. Faisal has won various literary awards and is often considered controversial due to his penchant for experimentation, both in form and for presenting alternative discourse in his works. Among his notable works are 1515, which was translated into French and published by Les Indes savants; The Professor; and The Koro Riots (both translated into English by Brigitte Bresson).

YANA RIZAL is a literary translator and editor who has worked with some of the most eminent authors in the region. She was the co-editor of Naratif | Kisah, the first bilingual literary journal in Southeast Asia. Her translations were included in the Anthology of Traditional Malay Literature, edited by Muhammad Haji Salleh, Malaysia's literary laureate. She has also coordinated several regional literary festivals over the years.
